FIRST PATIENT TREATED WITH NEW LEKSELL GAMMA KNIFE® PERFEXION™

PRESS RELEASE Stockholm, Sweden, July 11, 2006 Leksell Gamma Knife® Perfexion™, Elekta’s new system for stereotactic radiosurgery, has for the first time been used clinically to treat patients at Hôpital de la Timone (University Hospital La Timone) in Marseille, France.

Leksell Gamma Knife Perfexion represents a completely new technological approach. University Hospital La Timone is first in the world to have a Leksell Gamma Knife Perfexion installed and in clinical use.
