PRESS RELEASE

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA, October 18, 2006 – IMPAC Medical Systems, Inc. (IMPAC), an Elekta company and the world’s leading provider of information technology (IT) solutions for oncology care, announced today that MOSAIQ 1.0 is now in clinical operation at Midwest Center for Hematology/Oncology in Joliet, IL. The clinical release of MOSAIQ is the culmination of a multi-year development effort into the design of IMPAC’s next generation oncology system, which incorporates Microsoft® SQL server, Microsoft .NET technology, a new software architecture, and a new user interface tailored specifically to take oncology workflow automation to a new dimension.

Midwest Center for Hematology/Oncology found a solid solution with IMPAC’s MOSAIQ system as the cancer team sought the ability to centralize its computerized physician order entry capability (CPOE), create and customize disease-specific patient assessments, apply voice recognition with structured noting and generate consultative report templates from within a single database. MOSAIQ also supports ongoing evaluation and management documentation, and access to on-line clinical images. MOSAIQ’s workflow automation tools take full advantage of the system’s integrated clinical and administrative database to assure accuracy and efficiency in maintaining patient schedules, capturing billable services and supplies, generating claims and managing remittance.

“We have a long history of success using IMPAC and we’re excited about our opportunity to upgrade to MOSAIQ and build upon all the benefits we found in the original IMPAC EMR and practice management system,” stated Lawrence Schilder, DO, Medical Director, Midwest Center for Hematology/Oncology. “MOSAIQ helps further our objective to enhance quality and patient care while advancing our center’s medical technology,”

“Midwest Center for Hematology/Oncology has an aggressive practice growth and technology adoption plan. MOSAIQ’s support for sophisticated medical oncology workflow processes helps Midwest Center meet their overall goal of providing the best patient care now and into the future. Furthermore, MOSAIQ’s ability to import, review, and manage information from many disparate sources is truly integral to guaranteeing an optimized medical oncology workflow,” stated Rob MacMillan, IMPAC’s Vice President, Product Management.

“We are delighted that the staff at Midwest Center for Hematology/Oncology not only have started using MOSAIQ clinically, but also have leveraged full use of the many features that MOSAIQ has to offer,” stated James Hoey, President and CEO of IMPAC.

IMPAC will exhibit MOSAIQ at the American Society for Therapeutic Radiation and Oncology (ASTRO) Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, PA, November 5 – 8, 2006. You may visit IMPAC at ASTRO (booth #2109) and at ASTRO’s debut of the eASTRO Technology Pavilion (booth #1451C), both in the conference’s exhibit hall. IMPAC will also exhibit MOSAIQ at the American Society of Hematology conference in Orlando, Florida from December 9th through 11th.
