Steven Wort appointed as Elekta’s Chief Operating Officer

STOCKHOLM, July 14, 2017 – Elekta (EKTA-B.ST) has appointed Steven (Steve) Wort as Chief Operating Officer and member of the Executive Management team, effective September 1, 2017. He succeeds Johan Sedihn, who is leaving Elekta at his own request.

Steve Wort is an Elekta veteran, working in Operations for most of his employment, currently as Group Vice President Manufacturing & Logistics. He has had a broad career at Elekta, starting as an Industrial Engineer in the Crawley factory and gradually growing into management and leadership roles. He is one of the driving forces behind Elekta’s recently implemented produce-to-order process, as well as the successful cost containment measures in Elekta’s supply chain during the recent transformation.

Richard Hausmann, says: “I warmly welcome Steve to Elekta’s Executive Management team. He is ideally qualified for the role as COO, in which he can continue to deliver on process optimization, speed and agility of the supply chain. The upcoming start of the production and delivery of Unity, Elekta’s state of the art MR-linac system, will be in very capable hands.”

Richard Hausmann adds: “We are grateful to Johan Sedihn and are sorry to see him leave Elekta after so many years of dedicated service. I wish him all the best in his next assignment.”
