COMPTEL CORPORATION’S JANUARY-MARCH RESULT

Elisa Corporation's subsidiary Comptel Corporation has today
reported the following result for the period of January-March
2004:

Comptel showed strong profitability in the first quarter of 2004.
Comptel Group revenues in the period were EUR 12.5 million, which
corresponds to 3.3 per cent growth compared to the same period in
2003 (EUR 12,1 million). Operating profit was EUR 2.7 million (EUR
-0,3 million) for the period, which corresponds to 21.4 per cent
operating profit margin (-2.7 per cent). Earnings per share were
EUR 0.02 (EUR -0.00).

The growth resulted from the Product Business, where revenues were
EUR 10.5 million, which is 13,1 per cent higher compared to 2003
(EUR 9,3 million). The revenues of System Services declined 29.3
percent in the first quarter, amounting to EUR 2.0 million (EUR
2.8 million). Major reason for the decrease was the sale or
discontinuity of the business operations of Comptel’s subsidiary
company Probatus.

The Group had no interest-bearing debt at the time of the
financial statements. The equity ratio was 69.1 per cent (83.3 per
cent). The equity ratio was lower due to the dividend decided in
March but paid in April. If the dividend were paid prior to the
end of period, the equity ratio would have been 77.1 per cent.

At the end of first quarter 2004, the Comptel Corporation had 404
employees (532). The corresponding figure at the end of 2003 was
402.

The overall market situation in the mediation and provisioning
markets has not changed during the first quarter of 2004. Comptel
estimates that the development of its relevant markets allowing a
moderate revenue growth in 2004. The profitability of the Group
will improve on 2003.

Further information on Comptel Corporation’s result and growth
prospects are available in the company’s interim report for
January 1 – March 31, 2004, disclosed today.
