ELISA CORPORATION HAS SIGNED A LETTER OF INTENT WITH FUJITSU FOR OUTSOURCING OF DESKTOP AND DATA CENTRE SERVICES Elisa Corporation and Fujitsu Services Oy have today signed a letter of intent of outsourcing Elisas desktop and data centre services to Fujitsu. Under the agreement, the management and maintenance of approximately 5,500 desktops and 1,300 servers are transferred to Fujitsu. The seven-year agreement is expected to become effective on July 1st, 2004. At the same time, approximately 100 Elisa employees will transfer to Fujitsu. 'Elisa has chosen a partner to whom the outsourced functions are a core business. This way Elisa gains quality services for the company as well as its customers. The co-operation strengthens Elisas operations and supports Elisas business objectives,' said Pauli Ukkonen, Elisas Chief Information Officer. 'The change does not have any direct impact on our customers as the services will continue as before and the contractual relationship will continue with Elisa. Customers will be assisted at the familiar customer service centres, and Elisa will continue to offer comprehensive services, with the data center services as one part.'
