ELISA INITIATES PERSONNEL NEGOTIATIONS

The Elisa Group initiates personnel negotiations regarding
specified corporate staff functions and sales operations of Major
Accounts. The negotiations will commence on 25 August 2003 and end
on or about 6 October 2003

The functions to undergo negotiations currently employ
approximately 650 people, of whom around 350 in the corporate
staff and around 300 in the sales. In addition to the fixed-term
employments to be terminated, the personnel reduction need in
these functions is a maximum of 120 people in the autumn 2003, and
a maximum of 70 people in the spring 2004.

The personnel reduction is based on productivity grounds and
relates to the reorganisation of tasks.
