Elisa receives new, EUR 200 million sustainability-linked loan from the Nordic Investment Bank

Elisa and the Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) strengthen their cooperation and today signed a new EUR 200 million loan agreement. Elisa’s sustainability-linked loans are part of the company’s financing strategy and demonstrate commitment to sustainable development.

Elisa is committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2040. The interest margin on the new loan from the Nordic Investment Bank is tied to three of Elisa’s key sustainability targets. The agreed sustainability targets are:

  • KPI 1 & 2: A reduction of absolute Scopes 1, 2 and selected Scope 3 GHG emissions by 42% by 2031 from the baseline year of 2021
  • KPI 3: A decrease in the population without highspeed connections (min. 100 mb/s, both mobile and fixed) in Finland and Estonia, with a target of 1% by 2031.

With the support of NIB’s financing, we are committed to promoting regional equality in access to high-speed connections and accelerating the substantial reduction of greenhouse gas emissions both in our own operations and throughout our supply chain, which is essential for achieving our net zero target”, says Kristian Pullola, Elisa’s CFO.

The loan also supports investments to deliver reliable and resilient connections in locations, where high-speed access is still limited.
