ELISA'S OFFER TO SAUNALAHTI SHAREHOLDERS IS EXTENDED TILL 4 NOVEMBER 2005

Elisa's Share Exchange Offer to Saunalahti's shareholders and tender offer to
option holders will continue till Friday, 4 November 2005. Except for the
extension of the offer period, the terms and conditions of the Offer remain
unchanged. As provided for in the terms and conditions of the Offer, Elisa, inter
alia, retains the right to further extend or discontinue the extended offer
period.

Elisa's concentration notification is still pending at the Finnish Competition
Authority, and Elisa is conducting discussions with the Finnish Competition
Authority on issues relating to regional broadband markets.

By 7 October 2005, 68 per cent of the Saunalahti shareholders had accepted the
share exchange offer in accordance with its terms and conditions.
