ELISA'S OWNERSHIP OF COMPTEL DECREASED TO 19.9 PER CENT
Elisa has sold 40,946,000 Comptel Corporation shares to institutional investors
on the Helsinki Stock Exchange. Elisa's holding in Comptel has decreased from
58.1 per cent to 19.9 per cent. The sales price was EUR 75.8 million, and Elisa
will book approximately a EUR 50 million tax-free capital gain on the sale.
According to IFRS, the Comptel shares that remain under Elisa's ownership are
categorised as available-for-sale financial assets, which are recognised at fair
value under capital and reserves.
In 2004, Comptel's revenue was EUR 59.7 million, EBIT EUR 14.8 million, balance
sheet total EUR 60.0 million and the number of personnel 422.
Comptel will be consolidated as a subsidiary in Elisa's consolidated financial
statements until 31 May 2005.
In accordance with the earlier announced strategy, Comptel's business is not
included into Elisa's core businesses.
