ELISA STREAMLINES OPERATIONS AND INITIATES PERSONNEL NEGOTIATIONS
Elisa streamlines its operations to adapt to the rapidly changed market
situation. In accordance with a plan, the streamlining measures are scheduled for
the years 2005 - 2007.
As a part of more extensive streamlining Elisa initiates personnel negations
regarding the reorganisation of domestic operations. The objective is to simplify
and rationalise the organisation.
The anticipated staff reduction need is 80 people. The reductions concern the
managerial and supervisory tasks and support functions. The reductions will not
apply to the personnel in direct customer interface.
Agreements on change security measures have been reached with the staff
representatives. These measures include supporting voluntary resignation and
outplacement, for instance.
The negotiations will commence on 9 May 2005. The personnel reductions are based
on productivity and restructuring reasons.
The current number of Elisa's employees is 5 200.
