FINNISH COMPETITION AUTHORITY TO PROCEED WITH THE SAUNALAHTI DEAL

The Finnish Competition Authority has announced to commence further proceedings
in the Elisa-Saunalahti corporate acquisition. In Elisa's opinion, the Finnish
Competition Authority will particularly investigate the broadband market during
the stage II proceedings.

In accordance with the terms and conditions of the offer, Elisa's tender offer
period will end on 19 September 2005. Elisa will announce any extensions to the
offer period later this week.
