SOON NETS INSTALLATION BUSINESS TO ELTEL NETWORKS The Elisa groups Tampere-based Soon Net Ltd has signed an agreement with Eltel Networks on the transfer of installation business. Through the transaction, 67 employees of Soon Nets installation business will join Eltel Networks as old employees on 1 April 2004. The business transaction concerns the construction, maintenance and fault repairing of the telecommunications network. "Our aim is to focus on our core business while assuring the construction and unbroken maintenance of our telecom network. As installation is included in Eltel Networks core business, the solution is also good from the perspective of the employees joining the recipient company. This ensures long-term enhancement of operations", says Juha Malmberg at Elisa. "The companys long experience and references from a corresponding operational model weighted in selecting Eltel Networks as our strategic partner." "The agreement is an important step in our objective to construct telecom expertise for our operational network covering the whole of Finland. This strengthens our capacity to offer construction and maintenance services associated with telecom technology as well as maintenance services of the mobile network in the Tampere economic zone. On the terms of the contract, we agree to upgrade the services transferring to us. In practice this means a clearer product portfolio and packaging", says Juha Luusua, who is in charge of the network services at Eltel Networks.
