Valmet and Elisa to expand collaboration

Report this content

Valmet and Elisa have signed a multi-year agreement on the delivery of cyber security services and a global cyber security operations center. In addition, Valmet will continue its long-standing collaboration with Elisa in mobile services as well as network management and expert services. Together, the companies are building an environment where telecommunications and cyber services work seamlessly together.

Elisa and Valmet have agreed to expand their existing collaboration agreements effective April 1, 2026. The agreements cover three areas: cyber security services, global network services, and mobile networks.

“Valmet is a rapidly transforming industry pioneer, and its partners must also be able to support Valmet in the company’s ambitious goals. We are proud that Valmet trusts Elisa and has decided to expand the scale of our collaboration. Together, we are building a high-quality digital environment for Valmet where telecommunications and cyber security go hand in hand,” says Timo Katajisto, Executive Vice President, Corporate Customers at Elisa.

“At Valmet, our goal is to move toward an increasingly dynamic and customer-centric future. To achieve this goal, we need world-leading digital solutions that not only elevate our capabilities to a new level but also ensure our cost efficiency. Elisa has convinced us with its ability to offer modern services that flexibly meet our specific needs and help safeguard our business continuity. We are extremely pleased that our long and successful collaboration will now continue and expand into new areas,” says Arto Huuskonen, Vice President, IT Transformation at Valmet.

Collaboration in cyber security, networks, assembly management, and warehouse automation

Valmet has selected Elisa as its new provider of cyber security services, a global cyber security operations center (SOC), and related expert services. The aim of the collaboration is to protect Valmet from constantly evolving cyber security threats.

Elisa’s cyber security services will complement Valmet’s own information security organization by monitoring Valmet’s digital environment around the clock and responding immediately to potential threats. The service also includes proactive and protective measures, such as the continuous development of cyber security and the use of Elisa’s high-quality threat intelligence for protection and detection, which will significantly strengthen Valmet’s overall information security posture.

Furthermore, the collaboration between Valmet and Elisa in network management and expert services will continue for the coming years. Elisa has provided these services at Valmet’s more than 230 locations worldwide over the past five years. Elisa’s expertise and service quality have helped Valmet grow and efficiently integrate numerous acquisition targets into the company’s IT infrastructure.

Elisa will also continue as the provider of Valmet’s mobile services. The collaboration between the two companies in mobile services has continued for over a decade. The collaboration provides Valmet with a reliable and efficient foundation for work and communication.

In addition to the collaboration now agreed upon, Valmet has had a long-standing partnership with Elisa Industriq Finland. The service covers a manufacturing execution system (MES) and a warehouse automation system in selected Valmet business units. The collaboration between Valmet and Elisa demonstrates how extensive partnerships and long-term cooperation create significant business value.
