Elkem Highlights Specialty Alloys for Grey and Ductile Iron at CastExpo 2019
North America, 11 April 2019: From 27 until 30 April Elkem Foundry Products will be an exhibitor at CastExpo 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. There, it will highlight its specialty alloys for grey and ductile iron.
CastExpo, produced by the American Foundry Society (AFS), is the largest trade show and congress for metal casting in North America. It offers metal casters, suppliers, casting buyers and designers the opportunity to connect.
Elkem Foundry Products will display its full line of high-performance alloys that improve grey-iron and ductile-iron castings and production practices. Elkem is an exhibitor at the show that will be attended by about 6,000 foundry personnel from all over the world.
Among the products being featured are Elkem’s specialty inoculants, nodularisers, cover conditioners, preconditioners, and ferrosilicon products. These alloys help foundries achieve superior castings that meet user requirements, including chill-free iron, improved graphite structure and mechanical properties, lack of porosity from shrinkage, and lower total costs.
“Elkem’s complete technical team, including R&D engineers from Norway, will be available at the booth to meet casting producers and users,” said Chris Lisso, Elkem’s Sales and Marketing Manager in the Americas. “Together, we can discuss ways that Elkem’s specialty products can improve individual foundry practices and products.”
CastExpo visitors can also pick up or order Elkem’s structure and defects wall charts for grey and ductile iron. Elkem will display ductile-iron automotive castings that rely on the company’s specialty nodularisers and inoculants for good graphite nodularity, chill-free structure, and minimum micro porosity from shrinkage.
