Fredrik Persson new Chairman of the Board of Ellevio AB
Fredrik Persson has been elected chairman of Ellevio AB (publ). Fredrik replaces Sören Mellstig, who chooses to leave the chairmanship after five years.
Fredrik Persson has been elected new Chairman of the Board of distribution network operator Ellevio AB (publ). Fredrik has a solid curriculum vitae and has, among other things, worked 10 years at ABB and 15 years within the Axel Johnsson group. He’s currently chairman of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise and the construction company JM and on the board of among others Electrolux and the ICA group.
From 26 November, Fredrik Persson will take over as chairman after Sören Mellstig, who has chosen to leave the post as chairman after five years. During Sören Mellstig's time as chairman, Ellevio has developed into taking a clearer role in the transition to a more sustainable Sweden. Among other things, the company has tripled its network investments to enable the energy transition, started the implementation of the second generation of smart electricity metering, an important part of the future smart grid, and developed offers within charging infrastructure for electric cars and solar cells.
As chairman of Ellevio AB, Fredrik Persson wants to continue the work of creating the right conditions for the electricity network industry to drive the transition to a fossil-free society.
- The electrification of the transport sector and industry, the continued digitalization of society, as well as an increased share of renewable electricity require a reliable electricity infrastructure.
