Elmia Subcontractor is Northern Europe’s leading trade show for subcontractors in the manufacturing industry and their customers - a genuine specialist fair for product development and purchasing. The fair is held annually at Elmia in Jönköping, Sweden. Every year it brings together around 1,200 exhibitors from some 30 countries. In 2012 the fair attracted more than 14,000 visitors.This is a golden opportunity to meet a lot of people connected to the subcontractor industry in a short space of time. Furthermore, contacts forged here lead to business worth around 2 billion euro every year.

Thirty-five subcontractors, the Volvo Car Group, the Scandinavian automotive supplier association FKG, the Swedish technology development centre Innovatum, and academics have jointly developed concepts and systems that can build a car which is almost 40 per cent lighter in weight.
