Elos Medtech has been granted patent for a new dental drill concept
Elos Medtech announces that the company has been granted approval and registration of a patent for a dental drill system by the US Patent and Trademark Office and European Patent Office. The patent includes a drill system used for implant surgery and consists of a drill, a guide sleeve which guides the drill during surgery and a drill stop.
Surgery of dental implants involves many steps and procedures. During surgery it is essential that the drilling is as accurate as possible to reduce the impact of soft tissue and jawbone as well as reduce the risk of complications.
Elos Medtech’s dental drill system can be used in both conventional and guided implant surgery. Guided surgery is one of the increasing technologies that enables a more efficient workflow as well as less impact on patient. The patented dental drill system includes protection of a snap-lock feature on the drill stop sleeve as well as a built-in function that effectively punches the soft tissue.
