EMAS OFFSHORE APPOINTS NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

  • Capt. Adarash Kumar A/L Chranji Lal Amarnath (“Capt. Kumar”) appointed as Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) effective 25 September 2015

EMAS Offshore Limited (“EMAS Offshore” or “the Company”), an established offshore services provider offering offshore support, accommodation, construction and production services to the oil and gas industry, today announced that Capt. Kumar has been appointed as the Company’s new Chief Executive Officer, effective 25 September 2015. Mr. Jon Dunstan, the current CEO has resigned in order to pursue other interests outside of the company but will remain with the Company to handover and assist Capt. Kumar until February 2016. 

Mr. Lee Kian Soo, EMAS Offshore’s Executive Chairman, said: “I would like to thank Jon for his dedication and commitment in helming EMAS Offshore for the past year. He was appointed as Chief Operating Officer of EOC Limited in 2011, and was instrumental in overseeing its transformation into EMAS Offshore, which culminated in a dual-listing in the Singapore and Oslo stock exchanges in October 2014. He also oversaw the integration of London Marine Consultants into the EMAS group back in 2008. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”

Capt. Kumar, 55, has more than 25 years of experience in the marine industry. Prior to his appointment as CEO, he was Ezra Holdings Limited’s Group Chief Operating Officer. Before joining Ezra Holdings, he was an Assistant General Manager of Bumi Armada Navigation Sdn Bhd, an offshore support services provider based in Malaysia, and was responsible for its operations. He also held various positions onboard vessels while working for the Malaysian International Shipping Corporation. Capt. Kumar is a qualified Master Mariner and holds a Certificate of Competency as Master of a Foreign Going Ship issued by the Malaysian Marine Department.

He will be able to bring strategic insights to drive EMAS Offshore’s performance, maintain our leading position in Asia, and penetrate West Africa, which we have identified as a key market for us to grow in,” said Mr Lee. 

Capt. Kumar has stepped down from Ezra Holdings Limited as an executive director of its Board and his position as Group Chief Operating Officer, to fully concentrate on his new role with EMAS Offshore.
