Emma Evans, chef, co-founder of The Secret Supper Clwb and founder of the Welsh Mums in Business Network, appeared on Sky Living’s competitive cookery show, My Kitchen Rules, which debuted in the UK on Thursday 23 January 2014.

My Kitchen Rules puts six teams of two against each other in a series of culinary challenges. Their efforts will be judged by celebrity chefs, Lorriane Pascale and Jason Atherton, and the winning team will walk away with £25,000.

Emma will cook with her food-loving hairdresser, Philip Mungean, with whom she established The Secret Supper Clwb to host small specialist dining events across South Wales.

Speaking of her experience in the competition, Emma said, “To be involved with My Kitchen Rules was fantastic. It taught me a lot more about cooking and gave me the chance to learn from some great people. This show will demonstrate that you don’t always need formal training to produce fine, restaurant-quality food.”

Lorraine Pascale’s route to cookery was full of twist and turns. Starting off her career as a model for the world’s biggest fashion houses, she later stepped off the runway and into the classroom to find her true calling. Dabbling with a range of courses, from hypnotherapy to car mechanics, it was not until enrolling at leading culinary school Leiths that she discovered and nurtured her knack for baking.

Her career has continued to soar, with three successful cookery series, Baking Made Easy, Home Cooking Made Easy and Fresh, Fast and Easy as well as a Christmas special on BBC2, and further distributed internationally into 66 territories. These series have all been accompanied by bestselling recipe books, as well as her latest standalone release A Lighter Way to Bake.

Jason Atherton became the first British chef to work at Spain’s legendary elBulli restaurant in 1998. This invaluable experience laid the foundation for his unique style and fuelled his thirst for culinary knowledge.

Jason is a familiar face on cookery shows in the UK. As well as being a regular guest on Saturday Kitchen, he also won the third series of BBC2’s Great British Menu in June 2008. Jason returned to the series in 2009 and 2010 as a veteran judge.

Now in its fifth series in Australia, My Kitchen Rules has come to UK viewers on Sky Living HD at 9.00pm on Thursday evenings.
