Emma Evans confirms special Paleo diet dining event

Emma Evans, runner-up on Sky Living’s My Kitchen Rules, has announced the latest Secret Supper Clwb event: The Paleo diet dinner and demonstration being hosted at The Penylan Pantry, Roath on Friday 25 April 2014 from 19:30 to 22:30.

Following on from the sold-out Secret Supper Clwb events in March, Emma will display simple cooking tips, inspirational menu ideas and produce delicious food, all inspired by the revolutionary Paleo diet; with a dietician on hand to answer any questions regarding the menu and giving insight to why the diet plan can be a life-changing decision.

The Paleo diet is designed to increase you energy level, burn fat. Generally including foods such as, grass-fed meats, nuts, seeds and herbal infusions amongst others, it draws similarity to the diet of a Caveman.

Speaking of the new Secret Supper Clwb event, Emma said, “We like to keep ahead of food trends with  The Secret Supper Clwb and the Paleo diet is something which has become a real revelation. We will be exploring the benefits of the diet and looking into the techniques to get the best results.”

Established in February 2012, The Secret Supper Clwb holds pop up dining events in different venues in South Wales, regularly featuring guest chefs, dinner and live music.

Emma’s stature as a chef was affirmed when she finished in second place on Sky Living’s competitive cooking show, My Kitchen Rules, judged by celebrity chefs, Lorraine Pascale and Jason Atherton.

Emma specialises in cooking savoury dishes. Typically, these comprise a variety of meats and fishes cooked in a bistro style with big flavours and vibrant colours.

Tickets for The Secret Supper Clwb Paleo diet events are £35pp.

Due to popular demand, Emma has also announced another specialists wine and dine event. Taking place on Friday 30 May 2014, at The Penylan Pantry, Roath, with tickets costing £50pp.

Emma Evans – Backgrounder

Emma Evans is a Newport-based chef, co-founder of The Secret Supper Clwb and founder of the Welsh Mums in Business Network. A highly experienced hospitality professional, Emma has catered for HRH Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex and The Welsh Secretary of State.

Through the Secret Supper Clwb Emma hosts regular live cookery demonstrations at quirky venues in South Wales. Often featuring guest chefs, dinner and live music, these events explore themes such as cooking with unusual meats, matching food with wine and creating inspired sharing boards.

Emma’s success in the hospitality sector is driven by a passion for food which developed from long hours spent with her father in the kitchen of their family-owned hotel. As well as expert skills in cooking with families – including men and children – Emma holds a degree in Hotel Management from the University of Wales Institute. She has a background in sales, recruitment and event management and spent two years in Dubai. Emma describes her cooking style as rustic and bursting with flavour.

In 2008, Emma established the Welsh Mums in Business Network to give home-based self-employed women a forum to meet and develop business, support and networking opportunities.

From January 2014, Emma will represent Wales as a contestant on Sky Living’s competitive cooking show, My Kitchen Rules, which is judged by celebrity chefs, Lorraine Pascale and Jason Atherton.

In her spare time, Emma enjoys keeping fit at the gym. Her determination to keep fit as led her to run half marathons and 10k races, as well as training for her first Tough Mudder later this year. Emma also enjoys spending time with her family, watching her boys play football and rugby and going on walks and cycling.
