Motorola Launches Real-Time Global Online Multiplayer Service Using Terraplay Systems Technology

Real-time online multiplayer games now available on Hellomoto.com

BASINGSTOKE, UK, 20 April 2005 – Motorola (NYSE:MOT) handset owners will today be able to take advantage of a selection of real-time, multiplayer games from Motorola’s consumer portal, www.hellomoto.com. True, multiplayer gaming has been made available on Motorola’s website through Terraplay Systems’ network technology. Visitors to hellomoto.com are already able to download a wide variety of rich content including games, ring-tones and wallpapers. The new addition of multiplayer gaming makes full use of the multi-media capabilities of Motorola’s wide range of devices. Designed for all levels of gaming interest and abilities to appeal to the widest market, multiplayer gaming creates communities with leagues, ladders, tournaments and in-game chat – delivering a compelling, interactive gaming experience for consumers which keeps them returning, consequently driving ARPU for operators. Multi-player games on hellomoto.com mean that users in Taiwan, for example, will be able to play users in the US, either through hellomoto.com or through a mobile operator service – uniting people no matter where they are. The Terraplay networking and community technology, Terraplay MOVE, is a connected game solution for mobile multiplayer gaming and is being used by a growing number of mobile operators on both 2.5G and 3G networks.
