Stockholm 2007-04-20. Mobile media company Player X has selected Terraplay as the service provider for its connected gaming service, initially for ten games.

Player X is pursuing a strategy with connected mobile games and has signed a contract with Terraplay to launch ten games using the Terraplay Global Gaming Network.

The first title to launch is the Carol Vorderman Mind Aerobics brain trainer game that is launched across the UK operators in cooperation with Sky, with strong marketing tie-ins to the popular UK TV show of the same name. The second title is a casual puzzle game called Mind Games, consisting of a set of IQ challenges packed into one game. Mind Games will launch on 25 operators across Europe.

Both games feature an integrated competition mode that will run on weekly basis. Results from each gaming session are automatically submitted to the Terraplay competition server, and results are published in realtime on dedicated sites on web and WAP, and also inside the game. Gamers can take part in the global competition, or in national competitions staged by local operators or operator groups.

“We see great potential in connecting our gamers to create interactivity and community around the gaming experience, and the Terraplay Global Gaming Network was the perfect solution to support our large scale rollout”, says Tony Pearce, CEO at Player X.

“This is a very exciting project with great high quality games, strong marketing and simultaneous launch across the 25 major networks in Europe”, says Sven Hålling ,CEO at Terraplay, “and we are very pleased to work on this with Player X.”
