Enea Receives Innovation Award 2010 in Milan
Enea OSE Multicore Edition awarded in the Category ‘Embedded’ and received the honorific ‘Special Jury Award’
Enea® (Nordic Exchange/Small Cap/ENEA) announced that it has been recognized for its leading edge multicore realtime operating system (RTOS) Enea OSE Multicore Edition (www.enea.com/ose) at the Innovation Award 2010. The Innovation Award 2010 is a contest organized by Selezione di Elettronica, the oldest Italian magazine dedicated to electronics published by Gruppo 24 ORE. Over the course of a year, both web visitors and a jury composed of technical experts, university professors and editors selected the most innovative products within the electronics market based on several factors including innovation, availability and business significance.
The Innovation Awards were determined in two phases: first a selection of the three most innovative products across 12 categories with 12 products per category (Power systems, Embedded, MPU & MCU, EDA & Software, Opto & Led, T&M Instruments, Display, IC & Power Analogic, Passives & Sensors, FPGA & DSP, Memory, Connectors & Electromechanics). Then two special awards were selected by the jury: the “Best Innovation Award” and the “Special Jury Award”. The award ceremony took place at the Museum of Science and Technology ‘Leonardo da Vinci’ of Milan where Enea had the pleasure to receive two awards, one of which was the “Special Jury Award.”
OSE Multicore Edition features a groundbreaking kernel design that blends the advantages of both traditional Asymmetric Multiprocessing (AMP) and Symmetric Multiprocessing (SMP). This hybrid approach offers designers of advanced multicore processor-based embedded systems maximum flexibility, scalability and performance. OSE Multicore Edition is gathering wide acceptance in number of vertical markets including telecom infrastructure and medical devices.
“We are thrilled to have given the Jury Award to an innovative product such as OSE Multicore Edition, a real-time operating system which mixes Asymmetric Multiprocessing with Symmetric Multiprocessing in a single product offering thus delivering a level of scalability and ease of use in line with embedded systems market requirements.” said Mario Malcangi, Professor at the University Politecnico of Milan and a member of the Jury.
“Enea is once again pleased to be recognized by the press and a jury of experts, this is the second time that OSE Multicore Edition has received recognition from the industry” said Mathias Båth, senior vice president of marketing at Enea. “This award along with the recent design wins we have announced further illustrates the value of our one a kind approach to multicore. The hybrid approach we have taken solves real development challenges by providing an integrated, scalable solution that unleashes the full power of the latest multicore processors.”
