Enea acquires Epact in Linköping Enea Data AB acquires all shares in Epact Holding AB, and thereby acquires 87,5 percent of the shares in Epact Technology AB, with an option to acquire the remaining shares within two years. Epact Technology AB, "Epact", is a consultancy company focused on realtime and embedded systems development services. It is based in the city of Linköping, about 180 kilometers south of Stockholm. The company was founded in 1992 and today employs about 50 people. Some of the most important customers are Ericsson, Nokia, Telia and Saab. Epact's total sales for the fiscal year 1998-99 was SEK 33 million, with a profit of SEK 5,2 million. The operating margin was 13,9 percent. The acquisition of Epact means an important strengthening of Enea's market position within the area of realtime and embedded systems services. Epact is also adding knowledge in the area of datacom and telecom services development. For the moment Enea is experiencing very strong demands for both its services and products from international datacom and telecom customers, giving both Enea and Epact excellent possibilities for the future. In addition to this, Linköping is a very attractive geographic location for Enea's operations. Epact will, after the acquisition, become a more complete partner to its customers, and will presumably attract new customers as well. Peter Viberg, operating chairman of the board of Epact, is very positive about the acquisition and its possibilities: - Enea is exactly the right partner for the future development of our business, he says. Enea was founded in 1968 and was registred at the Stockholm Stock Exchange in 1989. - The acquisition of Epact fits well into our business development strategy, which means that our successful organic expansion will be complemented by strategic acquisitions, says the President of Enea Data, Åke Dovärn, and continues: - We are still very focused on maintaining our high quality during our expansion, and Epact is really a high quality company that has shown very good performance over a number of years. The acquisition is supposed to have positive effects on Eneas business by means of sales revenue and profit.
