Fort Collins, ColoradoEntangled Publishing is set to release THE FALLEN PRINCE, the second installment in The Keepers of Life series by Shea Berkley, on June 4, 2013. The book will be available at Barnes and Noble stores nationwide and at online retailers everywhere. The Keepers of  Life is a three book series about a boy, Dylan, and the fantastical journey he goes through as he fights the dark magic that threatens to overtake the realm of Teag. THE RISING KING will complete the trilogy in fall 2013.

In THE FALLEN PRINCE, someone is desperate to lure Dylan back to Teag—a fantasy world bordering the real world he lives in. Healed from the wounds he received in Teag, yet still carrying the scars and a whole list of guilt, he isn’t ready to go back. Not until his romantic interest, Kera, is kidnapped and held in the Unknown, a place where the worst kinds of creatures have been imprisoned does he find the strength to ignore his doubts and become the hero Kera believes he is. As Dylan reenters Teag and searches for Kera, he’s confronted by someone he thought was dead and is plunged into a battle of wills. Only when he frees the Lost King, his power-hungry and highly unstable father, does he find out what it means to give his all for those he loves.

About the book:

THE FALLEN PRINCE by Shea Berkley, Young Adult Fantasy Romance, 330 pages, Print ISBN: 978-1620612262, from Entangled Teen.

"Almost all my favorite books are fantasy. Add in the young adult element and you have instant drama because teens live their lives on the edge of emotion. So when you have young adults meeting fantastical creatures, you’re going to get one wild ride," notes Berkley. "It's that intensity of youth I love so much. Everything is new and interesting and awkward and over-the-top. It’s a time for firsts--from a first kiss to a first car to the first hard core rejection. Seeing life through a teen’s eyes can make me laugh the hardest but also cry the most."

About the author:

Shea Berkley started out writing nonfiction (not so fun) and quickly moved into fiction (totally fun), and knew she’d found her calling. (Her family was thrilled she’d found friends to play with even if they weren’t technically real.) She’s still pleasantly surprised people are willing to pay to read her stories.

Besides writing, her many diversions include horseback riding, kickboxing, reading awesome books and hanging out with friends and her loud and rambunctious family. Her biggest job is making sure her little darlings don’t harass the neighbors and then play dumb when the cops come knocking on her door.

She participates in several area fun runs that raise money for local charities, teaches youth at her local church, mentors aspiring authors, and speaks at various writers' groups. She was a finalist in Romance Writers of America's prestigious Golden Heart contest in 2006, 2009 and 2010.
