Kristiaan Nieuwenburg to Head EQT Partners Benelux
Kristiaan Nieuwenburg has joined EQT Partners as Partner at EQT Equity and Regional Head for Benelux. Kristiaan Nieuwenburg comes most recently from Dutch e-commerce firm RFS Holland Holding where he was Chief Financial Officer. From 1999 to 2011, Kristiaan worked for European private equity firm IK Investment Partners where he was a member of the Investment Committee and Partner with responsibility for the Benelux-region.
“Kristiaan brings both valuable local experience and deep private equity competence. Benelux is a really attractive region being equally as large as the Nordic private equity market with numerous domestic and international companies. EQT Partners will establish a significant local presence in the region, which is essential to analyze the markets thoroughly and be “local with locals”,” says Christian Sinding, Partner and Equity Business Line Head at EQT Partners.
“The Benelux-region has a long private equity tradition and EQT’s industrial approach with focus on operational and strategic development alongside growth will fit companies in this region very well. I am really excited to build up the EQT Partners Equity advisory business in Benelux and explore the investment opportunities further“, says Kristiaan Nieuwenburg, Partner at EQT Equity and Regional Head of EQT Partners in Benelux.
EQT funds have earlier made three investments in the Benelux-region: Springer Science+Business Media (headquartered in Luxembourg, extensive activities in the Netherlands), Koole Tanktransport and Argos Terminals (both based in the Netherlands).
In addition, EQT has during almost 20 years had an office in Amsterdam handling fund management and administration as well as other support activities.
