Smithfield, RI-July 17, 2012-EquinoxO2 Medical, LLC, developer of negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) foam dressings and pump systems, announced today development and distribution of its HALO XP npwt pump system, Part#  HXP2000. The HALO XP was designed for ambulatory patients. It’s a light weight and portable system that combines advanced technology with easy-to-use features. The new portable npwt pump was created to provide an affordable option to patients and healthcare facilities.

Chronic, non healing or untreated wounds are clinically affecting many patients and adding significant cost to our healthcare system. This cost is estimated at $113 billion. This medical cost will continue to increase even with competitive bidding starting by the end of 2012.  Equinox believes that affordable npwt technology should be available to all chronic patients. “We are very proud to offer patients and clinicians the HALO XP Pump System, the latest offering in our expanding npwt product portfolio for the successful treatment of all chronic wounds and affordable access to negative pressure therapy.” said Rian Mallari, president and chief executive officer, EquinoxO2 Medical, LLC.
