Ericsson and Juniper Networks deliver Internet backbone router and integration services for new public network infrastructure Separate Equity and Distribution Agreements strengthen cooperation Ericsson and Juniper Networks, Inc., today announced a series of strategic agreements enabling the next-generation of multi-service IP network solutions. The first of the agreements is a contract that allows Ericsson full rights to distribute immediately the M40 Internet backbone router as the Ericsson AXI 520. The Ericsson/Juniper cooperation allows carriers and ISPs to take advantage of Ericsson's systems integration and turnkey support, global distribution and professional services, while benefiting from Juniper's extensive IP backbone routing experience. As part of both companies' interest in developing integrated IP solutions, the two also have signed a co-operative technology agreement to explore converging opportunities in voice and IP. Separately, Ericsson has increased its minority equity interest in Juniper Networks and taken a position on Juniper's Board.
