Ericsson & mobile phones for children It has been rumoured recently that Ericsson is planning on launching mobile phones aimed at children. This is untrue. Ericsson is continually researching the feasibility of products with the aim of empowering various consumer groups with the tools to communicate whenever, wherever. It is possible that Ericsson will, at some stage in the future, launch mobile phones aimed at parents wanting to keep in contact with their children for example for security reasons. If such a product were to be launched, Ericsson would ensure that it would be marketed responsibly to adults only and would certainly position it as a communication tool - not a toy. Ericsson´s 100,000 employees are active in more than 130 countries. Their combined expertise in fixed and mobile networks, mobile phones and infocom systems makes Ericsson a world-leading supplier in telecommunications.
