Ericsson adds 450 MHz CDMA2000 solution to high growth markets offering

Ericsson today announced its 450 MHz CDMA2000 solution, a cost-effective 3G solution based on industry leading 3G platforms that support 1X and 1xEV-DO now and are ready to support 1xEV-DV services. The solution is the next step in Ericsson's recently launched Expander offering, which is designed to improve scalability and provide cost-effective solutions for high growth markets.
Many operators with spectrum in the 450 MHz frequency are replacing their existing analog NMT450 networks with CDMA2000, enabling them to deploy state-of-the-art technology with clear voice calls and data capabilities with higher capacity. Many countries also will allocate new spectrum for CDMA2000 450 MHz.

Due to the improved propagation at lower frequencies, CDMA2000 in 450 MHz is particularly well suited for rural networks and for addressing operators' needs for cost-efficient coverage.
