Ericsson and MobileCom sign frame contract for new GSM network in Jordan Ericsson and MobileCom have signed a frame contract for a new nationwide GSM network in Jordan. The initial order is valued at more than 35 million USD. Ericsson will deliver a full GSM infrastructure and service portfolio, enabling MobileCom to offer its customers the latest in advanced GSM services. Build-out of the network will begin immediately. Services will be launched in early autumn this year, with plans to expand the system to a capacity of 300,000 subscribers in the very near future. The new GSM network, the nation's second, will further enable easy roaming in the Middle East and beyond by MobileCom's customers. Under the agreement, Ericsson will train MobileCom staff as well as its own local staff.
