Ericsson and MobileCom sign frame contract for new GSM network in Jordan Ericsson and MobileCom have signed a frame contract for a new nationwide GSM network in Jordan. The initial order is valued at more than 35 million USD. Ericsson will deliver a full GSM infrastructure and service portfolio, enabling MobileCom to offer its customers the latest in advanced GSM services. Build-out of the network will begin immediately. Services will be launched in early autumn this year, with plans to expand the system to a capacity of 300,000 subscribers in the very near future. The new GSM network, the nation's second, will further enable easy roaming in the Middle East and beyond by MobileCom's customers.
