Ericsson today announced additional CDMA2000 1X infrastructure expansion contracts with China Unicom for approximately USD 90 million. The contracts cover Jiangsu, Yunnan, Heilongjiang and Liaoning provinces. Ericsson also announced expansion in Sichuan Province earlier this year.
The contracts include Ericsson's total CDMA2000 1X solution for core and radio network equipment and a full portfolio of services including training, network rollout and technical support. All these expansions include Ericsson's radio base station 1140 and 1143, which are part of the Expander portfolio designed to provide cost-effective solutions for high growth markets.

Nanjing Ericsson Panda Communications Company Ltd. (ENC), the largest Ericsson joint venture in China, is delivering all Ericsson equipment for the new contracts. Deployment for the expansions has already been completed and commercial launches are currently underway.
