Ericsson announces new IP-billing and e-commerce solution Ericsson announces two new solutions for IP billing and Internet payment. These billing products further broaden the Ericsson portfolio of total telecom management solutions for service providers. At CeBIT, in Germany, Ericsson is showcasing these two new billing products over a live WCDMA network. For mobile network operators it is important to get an early start in handling billing of packet-based services. Today most of those operators are mainly handling billing of minute-based voice services. Ericsson delivers complete billing solutions, including consultancy and system integration services, to network operators and service providers. These latest IP billing and e-commerce solutions specifically strengthens Ericsson's charging and billing offering for IP-based and Internet services, including those enabled by emerging mobile network technologies such as WAP, GPRS and 3G. The evolving market place for mobile IP services and e-commerce will demand new capabilities for billing to make it possible for service providers to capture new traffic, add substantial revenue growth, and increase their competitive positioning. The billing products are being offered through a licensing agreement with EHPT, the global software supplier for communications management.
