Ericsson appoints new President of Ericsson Inc. in the United States

Ericsson appoints new President of Ericsson Inc. in the United States Bo Dimert has been appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of Ericsson Inc., US, effective September 1, 1998. Bo Dimert succeeds Bo Hedfors, who has decided to leave Ericsson and take up a position outside the Company in the US. Bo Dimert, today Vice President and General Manager of the Business Unit Enterprise Networks, joined Ericsson 1995. He brought with him a long experience from the IT industry. He has worked for ten years with Digital Equipment Corporation as the Country Group Manager for the Nordic countries and also as President of Digital in Sweden since 1985. Before joining Digital he served IBM for 17 years in various line and staff positions both in Sweden and in head quarter functions. During the period 1977-1980 he was responsible for IBM's Business relations with Ericsson worldwide. "Bo Dimert's back-ground will be a great asset to Ericsson in the US in the company's plans to strengthen its presence in datacom and IP-related business," says Sven-Christer Nilsson President and CEO of Ericsson. "Bo Dimert's experience from the competitive IT industry also provides Ericsson in the US with additional strength to serve our customers in this strategic market," says Sven-Christer Nilsson. Bo Dimert is 54 years old and holds a Master of Business Administration from the Stockholm School of Economics. Ericsson´s 100,000 employees are active in more than 130 countries.
