Ericsson appoints Vice President and General Manager for Research and Development

Håkan Eriksson was today appointed Vice President and General Manager for Research and Development at Ericsson, effective April 14. He will be a member of the Ericsson Corporate Management Team.
In his new capacity Håkan Eriksson will be responsible for development activities carried out in the three core units; Core Network Development, Radio Network Development and Service Network and Applications. In addition to this, Håkan Eriksson will retain responsibility for Ericsson Research.


Håkan Eriksson has 17 years of experience within Ericsson. He took an active part in the development of the GSM standardization as well as the early research conducted for WCDMA. The last five years Håkan Eriksson has been leading all research in Ericsson, giving him the background to now also take on the development.
