Ericsson at the 1999 GSM World Congress The 1999 GSM World Congress is taking place on 23-25 February in Cannes, France. For this, its thirteenth year, the theme is "Enriching the Present, Driving the Future." Ericsson's press conference on 22 February will highlight several of the company's latest GSM developments - the newest offerings for networks and terminals, innovations in wireless datacoms and the drive towards wireless 3G speeds. Senior executives who will be present include Per-Arne Sandstroem, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Ericsson Radio Systems, GSM Systems, and Jan Ahrenbring, Vice President Marketing and Communications, Consumer Products. Ericsson senior executives on the Cannes congress program include Mats Dahlin, Executive Vice President, Ericsson, rounding up the vendor panel on Trends in Infrastructure; Dr. Jan Uddenfelt, Senior Vice President, Technology, speaking on building 3G networks through the evolution of existing infrastructure; and Joakim Nelson, Senior Manager, Systems Coordination, Consumer Products, speaking on building foundations for 3G terminals and services at the Innovations in Handset Technology seminar.
