Ericsson at the World Summit on Sustainable Development
At the Johannesburg World Summit on Sustainable Development. 2002, August 26 - September 4, Ericsson will demonstrate products and business solutions for a sustainable future.
Communication is key for both economic and social development in emerging economies. Telecom offers new solutions, designed to be energy efficient, quick and easy to deploy, cost-efficient and adapted to the needs of developing countries.
Sunday September 1, starting 14:00, local time, Mats Dahlin, Executive Vice President Market Area Europe, Middle East and Africa, is participating in a Business Day seminar. The topic is how to address the challenge of including the developing countries in the global communications society. The event will take place at Hilton Hotel, Rivonia Road, Sandton. Participation is by invitation only.
Monday September 2, 09:30-11:00, local time, Ericsson will announce a unique partnership agreement with a leading humanitarian organization, breaking new ground in the way the private sector and aid organizations work together. Mats Dahlin will represent Ericsson at the signing ceremony. Venue: Crown Plaza, Rivonia Road, Sandton.
Also on September 2, from 13:30, local time, Mats Dahlin is participating in a Round Table discussion about the Global Compact Program hosted by the United Nations. This is a closed session.
Ericsson will also be exhibiting at the Ubuntu Village, Wanderers Complex, North Road, Illovo, Sandton, Stand no: 364. Presentations will be on Ericsson´s Response Program for disaster relief, MiniGSM solutions especially adapted for developing countries and our concepts for a sustainable development.
INTERVIEWS Interviews will be arranged throughout the summit for media with Ericsson spokespeople.
