In March 2006, Vodafone Group held its inaugural Global Supplier Conference, attended by 30 of its largest suppliers, and hosted by Detlef Schultz, Global Supply Chain Management Director of Vodafone. Keynote presentations were provided by Arun Sarin, Chief Executive Officer of the Vodafone Group, Thomas Geitner, Chief Technology Officer, and Tim Miles, CEO of Vodafone UK.

At the conference, Ericsson won the network award for "Best Engagement In Network" in Vodafone's Supplier Performance Management Programme.  This award was a result of Ericsson's success in delivering a range of efficiencies, being the first to deliver HSDPA, and overall engagement with the customer.

The Vodafone Global Customer Account, a multinational Ericsson team dedicated to Vodafone, is committed to delivering efficiencies across the Group. The team supports Vodafone both at a global and local level.  Ericsson's leadership in HSPDA is being shared with Vodafone across its key markets, as both companies strive to "design once, and deploy many."

Detlef Schultz, Director of Global Supply Chain Management, says:  "Ericsson has demonstrated its ability to be responsive to the demands of Vodafone.  We initiated the Supplier Performance Management Programme in 2004 and we are encouraged by Ericsson's support of this programme."
