Ericsson chosen by Libertel-Vodafone as sole supplier for UMTS in the Netherlands

Ericsson chosen by Libertel-Vodafone as sole supplier for UMTS network in the Netherlands Ericsson has been selected by Libertel-Vodafone as sole supplier for a UMTS network in the Netherlands. The contract is valued at approximately USD 45 million. The 3G contract includes hardware, software and services for the roll out of the UMTS network. Libertel-Vodafone will begin offering 3G services to its customers commercially by the end of 2002. Ericsson currently supplies GSM including GPRS to Libertel-Vodafone and this agreement continues Ericsson's relationship as sole supplier for both the Core and Radio Access Network (RAN).
