Local operator Dalacom, and its partners, participated in the trial in conjunction with The Agency of Information and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

"This trial is a further proof of Ericsson's commitment to providing our customers with the most advanced wireless solutions available", - said Guenther Begemann, Vice-President, Ericsson Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Due to the improved propagation at lower frequencies, CDMA2000 in 450 MHz is particularly well suited for rural networks and for addressing operators' needs for cost-efficient coverage and capacity as a fixed line alternative, for Universal Service Obligation, and in public safety applications. In addition, the high-speed data capabilities of CDMA2000 1X make it very appealing to 450 MHz operators as a DSL alternative.

Ericsson's CDMA2000 and GSM/EDGE Expander solutions are comprised of products and services that cover the total mobile network, and provide low total cost of ownership, high quality performance, and are optimized for scalable coverage and capacity.

Ericsson is shaping the future of Mobile and Broadband Internet communications through its continuous technology leadership. Providing innovative solutions in more than 140 countries, Ericsson is helping to create the most powerful communication companies in the world.
