FramtidsForum offers new possibilities - Ericsson continues its restructuring in collaboration with Manpower In collaboration with the staffing and employment service Manpower, Ericsson has decided to form a unit called FramtidsForum (Forum of the Future). FramtidsForum will be responsible for helping up to 1,000 people affected by the surplus staff that currently exists in Ericsson's business segment Network Operators and Service Providers in the Stockholm region. The formation of the unit is part of the restructuring program previously announced by Ericsson and now under way. The program will cover a two-year period and affect a total of 15,000 people. FramtidsForum is a temporary organization where, for a limited period of up to a year, those affected by the changes will have access to professional support from Ericsson and Manpower to help them develop their careers. The goal of FramtidsForum is to help all those affected by the structural changes to find new jobs. Anyone who has not found a new job by the time FramtidsForum is dismantled will be offered permanent employment by Manpower. This collaboration is the first of its kind in this area. In addition to the possibilities offered by FramtidsForum, other alternatives and possibilities will be available, such as redundancy payments and age- related contractual pensions. Those affected by the changes are currently employed by the Ericsson subsidiaries Ericsson Radio Systems AB and Ericsson Telecom AB. Ericsson is the leading provider in the new telecoms world, with communications solutions that combine telecom and datacom technologies with freedom of mobility for the user. With more than 100,000 employees in 140 countries, Ericsson simplifies communications for its customers - network operators, service providers, enterprises and consumers - the world over.
