Ericsson Deploys Integrated Multi-Access Solution for CDMA2000 and WLAN for China Unicom

Ericsson's CDMA2000 multi-access solution will enable China Unicom to complement their CDMA2000 network, optimised for mobility and coverage in the wide area, with WLAN, which is optimised for high-speed data in local area coverage and will support services in "hot spots," such as airports and conference centres. This solution enables the end-user to have an "always best connected" experience that offers seamless mobility with secure connections and the highest data rates possible, all from a single subscription.


"This seamless CDMA2000 multi-access solution will help China Unicom to ensure cost-effective delivery of data services to it customers, which will in turn help to increase the uptake of new services and generate new revenue streams for our customer," said Jan Malm, president, Ericsson China.


Ericsson currently supplies its total CDMA2000 1Xnetwork to China Unicom in the Jiangsu, Anhui, Sichuan, Yunnan, Henan, Heilongjiang and Liaoning provinces.
