Ericsson Executive Vice President Anders Igel to leave Ericsson Anders Igel, Executive Vice President of Ericsson and head of Business Area Infocom Systems will leave Ericsson after 20 years of employment. Anders Igel will leave his present position as head of Business Area Infocom Systems as from October 1 st 1998 but will stay within Ericsson until March 31 st 1999. During that period he will assist the CEO of Ericsson, Sven-Christer Nilsson in the transition to the new Ericsson organization to be announced. "I have decided to leave Ericsson. The 20 years in Ericsson have been a fantastic personal and professional experience. If I should not stay in Ericsson until I retire, now is the time to leave in connection with the appointment of a new CEO and the introduction of a new organization," said Anders Igel. "Anders has made an excellent contribution in Ericsson throughout his career. As head of Infocom Systems he has had a very difficult job. Three of the four Business Units within Infocom Systems have delivered against set targets. The turnaround of Business Unit Public Networks is well on its way with the reduction of 15,000 people so far out of the total reduction of 20,000 people in the action programs. He has also initiated actions to achieve further synergies in R&D between the fixed and mobile sides to be implemented in the new Ericsson organization. Anders Igel has managed the balance between the need for rapid progress in restructuring and satisfied customers," said Sven- Christer Nilsson. Ericsson´s 100,000 employees are active in more than 130 countries. Their combined expertise in fixed and mobile networks, mobile phones and infocom systems makes Ericsson a world-leading supplier in telecommunications. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION, PLEASE CONTACT Lars A.
