Ericsson founder member in Global GSM association Ericsson joins the recently founded Global Mobile Suppliers Association - GSA. For end-users this initiative will further support the creation of new applications as well as enable the use of GSM services on new markets. GSA brings together suppliers of GSM solutions and services on all continents. The new association will allow suppliers to further focus on promoting GSM on a global level and encourage development of GSM-based software tools and applications. Ericsson is one of 21 GSM suppliers that founded the association to further promote solutions and services to support existing and future users. GSA includes companies from all across the supply chain, for example suppliers of infrastructure, terminals, billing and customer care solutions, components and semiconductors. Currently GSM has more than 110 million users, making it the world's most widely used and fastest-growing mobile communications offering. More than half of those GSM users are connected via Ericsson systems. Ericsson's 100,000 employees are active in more than 130 countries. Their combined expertise in fixed and mobile networks, mobile phones and infocom systems makes Ericsson a world-leading supplier in telecommunications.
