Services that add value, create convenience and make daily life and work easier and more effective are those that will be widely adopted. To that end, Ericsson is seeking and rewarding those Mobile Applications leading the future in a customer focused Mobile Internet.

In a first phase, developers are welcome to submit their application until October 31, 2003. Twelve entries will then be selected to compete in the finals on November 25, 2003 in Zurich Switzerland. There will be four categories with three finalists in each: Best Mobile Entertainment, Gaming, Enterprise and Information Application.

The finalists at the Ericsson Mobile Application Awards 2003 will have the unique opportunity to present their service live to an exclusive audience consisting of executives from mobile network operators, venture capitalists and other industry players. In a matchmaking session on November 26, the finalists will be able to discuss further business partnerships with network operators from Europe, Middle East and Africa.

The Ericsson Mobile Application Awards and the Matchmaking Session are part of Ericsson's efforts to bridge the gap between developers, content providers, venture capitalists and network operators.
