Ericsson has launched a stand-alone version of its MX-ONE IP communications platform - a full-featured IP-PBX system for enterprises mobilizing their IT and communications infrastructure or deploying a converged voice and data network from day one.
The latest release of the Ericsson MX-ONE system offers a complete range of business-class telephony services across IP networks for up to 7,000 users, along with integrated mobility and extensive collaboration features. These include Instant Messaging, corporate directories and presence profile management - all fully integrated with standard enterprise software such as Microsoft Office and IBM Lotus Notes.

Analog, digital, mobile and IP phones can be used interchangeably with MX-ONE, enabling businesses to benefit from fixed-mobile and voice-data convergence. Independent of the device used - whether it is a smartphone or a desktop PC - employees will get the same look, feel and functionality.

MX-ONE's messaging application consolidates voicemail, fax and e-mail into a single user inbox. Unified Messaging services and 'text to speech' enable employees to access and manage their e-mail inbox while they are on the road, from their mobile, smartphone or even from a public phone at an airport or hotel, airport, for example - wherever they happen to be.

An active directory-based management system, MX-ONE Manager, centralizes network and user administration and simplifies fault and performance management, reducing the costs associated with managing the converged network.

For organizations with call center operations, MX-ONE can be combined with Ericsson's IP-based contact center solution, Solidus eCare, to provide voice and multimedia customer care services and link in mobile and remote agents.

The new release of MX-ONE completes the feature set of Ericsson's IP-based communications platform, following the introduction of the first building block, the MX-ONE Telephony System, in 2004. With this release, Ericsson is considerably expanding the introduction of the MX-ONE to a number of additional markets.

Urban Gillström, President of Ericsson Enterprise says: "We are providing customers with a fully-fledged IP-based communications system that offers much more than just PBX functionality.

"MX-ONE enables organizations to make a future-proof investment that will help them fully reap the cost and productivity advantages of convergent fixed, IP and mobile networks. They can either integrate MX-ONE into their legacy infrastructure or replace existing systems, depending on their individual requirements."

Users of Ericsson's MD110 PBX can integrate the MX-ONE Telephony System with their MD110 architecture as a first step in IP evolution.

Ericsson is shaping the future of Mobile and Broadband Internet communications through its continuous technology leadership. Providing innovative solutions in more than 140 countries, Ericsson is helping to create the most powerful communication companies in the world.
