This contract underlines Bouygues Telecom interest for location-based services and reinforces Ericsson's implication in the introduction of new Mobile Internet applications.

The Mobile Positioning Platform, a solution tailored to Bouygues Telecom strategy and to the customer needs
With the Ericsson MPS platform, all Bouygues Telecom customers, assuming they explicitly agree to, will have access to location-based services, no matter which mobile phone or SIM card they have.


This platform, used together with GPRS, MMS, SMS or voice services, allows the operator to enrich and propose new targeted services, such as access to personalised information depending on the geographical position, special offers, emergency and safety services, entertainment, and location search.


Ericsson, global integrator of the solution, worked in partnership with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young to connect the platform with Bouygues Telecom computer environment.
