Ericsson forms a new business unit by merging Mobile Systems with Multi-Service Networks. The new business unit will be headed by Bert Nordberg.

As the build-out of traditional wireline networks enters a maturity phase, operators focus increasingly on optimization and maintenance of their systems. In order to adapt to customer needs, we are also integrating TDMA, PDC and traditional wireline switching into our Services business.

The product development in today's Multi-Service Networks will be transferred to the R&D organization.

Bert Nordberg, currently Head of Business Unit Global Services, will take over as Head of the new merged business unit.

Karl-Henrik Sundström, currently Head of Market Unit Australia, will take over as Head of Business Unit Global Services.

The new organization will be effective as of May 1, 2002.
