Press Release 23 Feb 1999 Ericsson Phone Doubler Quick Call named product of the year Ericsson's Phone Doubler Quick Call (PDQC) has been named one of the most important and influential products of 1998 by two US-based industry publications. Internet Telephony magazine honored Phone Doubler Quick Call in the "Web-Enabled Call Center Solutions" category, and CTI magazine recognized the product in the "Call Center, Internet Telephony" category. Editors of both publications selected the products to be honored based on reviews, testing and industry impact. The awards are designed to draw attention to vendors whose products have helped define the fields of computer telephony and Internet telephony. "Ericsson's Phone Doubler Quick Call is among the most forward thinking and useful products announced in the field of voice/data convergence - a field that is abundant with new products," said Rich Techrani, group publisher for TMC, which publishes both CTI and Internet Telephony. Phone Doubler Quick Call is an IP telephony product that allows Internet users to click on a Web site icon and immediately call a customer service, sales or technical support representative via their computers, without needing an additional phone line. PDQC allows call centers and e-commerce providers to receive calls directly from the Internet without replacing their current telephone system. The product works with any telephone system, PBX or call center system. PDQC also integrates Web- based customer service with call centers, enhancing online customer service with the option of simultaneous personal assistance.
