Ericsson's shareholders approve option program for employees Ericsson's shareholders today at an Extraordinary General Meeting decided to approve the year 2000 issue of options for Ericsson's employees. The approval is based on the principles announced on October 5, 1999. (http://www.ericsson.com/pressroom/19991005-0067.html) The total program covers the period years 2000-2002 and is directed toward about 5000 employees in the US and about 2000 in the rest of the world. During the period, 20 million options are scheduled to be granted to employees as follows: 12.6 million options for year 2000, 3.7 million options for year 2001 and 3.7 million options for year 2002.
